The protracted labour conflict at the Port of Gothenburg may be nearing an end, following a unique agreement between Swedish unions and employer organisations to curb the right to strike. On Tuesday, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv), LO, TCO and SACO agreed that strike action should be prohibited in all forms, other than for a collective agreement.
Social Democratic Employment Minister Ylva Johansson has welcomed the news, saying that she will seek the support of lawmakers for the proposal.
