Financial and legal advisors have experienced several golden years in Sweden as the market for business deals has doubled. Almost 400 deals were closed last year at a value of SEK 411 billion.
Analyst Mergermarket has reviewed last year’s business deal climate and the Nordic region sticks out as an area in which they are booming. The Swedish market was almost as large as the combined business volumes for Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Some of the biggest deals involving Swedish companies last year included Atlas Copco’s hiving off of Epiroc at a value of SEK 100 billion, Autoliv selling Veoneer at SEK 26 billion and American Paypal’s acquisition of iZettle for almost SEK 20 billion.
