Minister for Public Administration Ardalan Shekarabi has said that the majority of care companies in Sweden will be able to post profits that are in line with other service companies, even after the government's proposed profit cap.
According to PwC, however, 80% of the care companies’ profits would vanish, if they are forced to apply the proposed rules.
“This shows that Shekarabi, intentionally or unintentionally, is spreading misinformation about the issue, and that voters are being hoodwinked,” says Anders Morin, senior welfare policy manager at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv).
Meanwhile, Shekarabi admits that the bill is unlikely to be passed this summer, saying that he does not see the Sweden Democrats changing their minds.
