Voicing their thoughts on the tasks facing a new government, Carola Lemne, head of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv), and former trade minister Björn Rosengren are concerned that a weak government will be unable to implement much-needed reform.
Rosengren is of the view that the Löfven government has “forgotten infrastructure” and a new government will need to focus on infrastructure investment, education and policing.
Both Rosengren and Lemne consider a review of Sweden’s tax system to be vital. “We have a tax system that is not competitive, if compared to the rest of Europe,” says Lemne, adding that labour laws will need to be updated.
