Peter Carlsson, CEO of Northvolt, has told Bloomberg that the battery manufacturer has received orders to “almost” cover the first two stages of construction of a facility in Skellefteå. The company hopes to conclude its first financing round by the end of June.
The facility will produce 32 GWh annually when it reaches full-scale capacity.
Northvolt has recently started production of battery modules for the mining industry at a facility in Gdansk, Poland. The first deliveries are scheduled for the third quarter this year.
