The Swedish manufacturing purchasing managers’ index fell to 52.0 in December from 55.4 in November, according to Swedbank/Silf. The December reading, the lowest in three years, indicates a broad slowdown but “monthly readings should … be interpreted carefully and the next few months will show where the economy is heading,” says Swedbank economist Jörgen Kennemar.
Sub-indices for production, suppliers’ delivery times, orders and employment all declined.
